MEET THE NATIVESWednesday 8.30pm, ABC2Cute idea. The much filmed, documented and examined natives of Tanna in the South Pacific are given a video camera and invited to make their own documentary about the natives of another island - mainland Great Britain. At first it seems that's just a ruse to make yet another documentary about those crazy Tanna natives. And there is plenty of them trying on Western clothes, grappling with a vacuum cleaner, learning how to clean their teeth. Etcetera. But eventually this evolves to meet its purported brief as the men of Tanna reflect with some intelligence and humour on the society they're getting to know. In this ep, they're visiting a Norfolk pig farm; next week, they're off to some Manchester housing commission flats.
